Graham Harris
Managing Director

Born and raised in Barnstaple North Devon, I have over 14 years of experience working within local press, online marketing and radio. My media career started at the North Devon Journal as an Account Manager before serving a year in the Reserve Army in Iraq, an enlightening and educational personal experience.

I returned to North Devon to continue my work within local press, ND Journal and the North Devon Gazette. Both roles were highly client service focused, controlling budgets and filling advertising space; delivering exceptional account management and ultimately ensuring client advertising & marketing worked.

As the advertising landscape changed and print readerships dropped, my move to Heart Radio was a great opportunity. Again, in a client focused role, delivering bespoke strategy, a valuable experience.

I was soon headhunted back to manage a team for Archant again, at The North Devon Gazette. Promoted quickly to publisher; running the Agricultural Trader and two other rural magazines, as well as the Wedding Factor, The North Devon Scene and My Town Bideford.

I endeavoured to grow as digital media exploded – a challenging time for media owners. The marketing world changed, every business needed a different strategy, guidance and advice. So, through personal market research, advanced digital marketing training and social media management qualifications, I absolutely grabbed the opportunity I so clearly saw.

Boom Boom Media was founded in North Devon, initially to help local businesses thrive and driven by a passion for the local area and all of the people who live here.

We now service the whole country, with our strategy still underpinned by a hunger to understand the changing behaviours of media consumption. Our ethos: to deliver the perfect message, at the optimum time, through the best medium in the correct place, to a highly targeted audience.

Hazel Knight
Account Manager

I was born, and grew up, in Rainham, Kent. Shortly after finishing school in 2002 I moved with my family to North Devon. I was just 18 years old and started working in customer support roles both for local businesses, organisations and a national charity.

My media career began as a business directory builder for Best of Barnstaple. When that franchise closed, I was taken on by North Devon Now to support and advise their clients, build their social media channels, encourage engagement, develop their website and help grow the company. I thoroughly enjoyed working in a customer facing environment and was promoted to account manager in a very short time. 

Boom Boom Media took offices in the building where I worked and I was approached to assist in building their customer base. It was nice to hear I have a natural ability to build a rapport with people of all levels and I was more than happy to get involved.

I successfully enlarged their portfolio, gained a wealth of experience in online marketing and thoroughly enjoyed working with a huge variety of clients. These included our much loved local theatres; promoting shows through press ads & articles, digital promotion, social media marketing, brochure production & distribution and even weekly interview slots on The Voice FM (our local radio station). I also provided support services to the cast and crew of touring productions, organising promotional events – taking pantomime staff to the children’s ward at North Devon District Hospital and Little Bridge house Children’s Hospice.

In these challenging times I feel it is vital to offer exceptional levels of support and assistance to our local business community, and believe that Boom Boom Media, with our extensive local knowledge, is best placed to help them survive, develop and grow.

Emily Knight
Account Manager / Web Builder

I moved to North Devon in 2011, after being born and raised in North Dorset. Semi-self-employed, I worked, delivering online marketing solutions to several local & national businesses, utilising my degree in marketing management. Alongside this, I worked as marketing manager for a local NHS practice, before moving to a large digital marketing agency, Artavia, in 2013.

After 10 years of experience, and learning, within the marketing Industry, I decided to work fully self-employed, completely for myself. I founded Business Bees, professional VA services where I started providing virtual assistance (VA) marketing services to small businesses.

I took some time for maternity before joining the Boom Boom Media team in 2018. My professional marketing skills have continually developed over many years, working with small & large budgets alike. I enjoy social media management, especially when working on local tourism businesses, a passion shared across the business.

My skills include responsive website development, booking system management & integration, beta testing, search engine optimisation, content creation and graphic design. Websites that I’ve recently built, include: The Carlton (full rebuild and migration), Pigstock, Pig on the Beach, Junglaroo and Salon Sixty Five.

I especially enjoyed leading a team to deliver, and migrate, a bespoke website. From initial wireframes, through to design, copy, SEO, testing and completion. A website that delivers cut-through in a crowded market, remains attractive to their target audience, while being user-friendly and giving that wow factor.

I love working for Boom Boom Media. I really enjoy working with such an amazing team of people, a team who are genuinely passionate about delivering a personal service and delivering real results to customers, clients and employees.

Our Creative Team

Our Creative team is exceptionally strong and talented, they are constantly inspiring us. It’s a genuine pleasure to have them working alongside the digital, media, and print teams.
They are constantly inventing creative solutions to even the most random of tasks, it makes them very special; from large format to building graffiti-covered tables, pixel-perfect digital imagery to carving whales from an off-cut of wood, we love a bit of leftfield.

We are home to exceptional creatives, with bucket loads of experience, all of whom bring something different to the (graffiti-covered) table.

Whether it be branding, logo design, illustration, graphic design, web design, video, photography, conceptual design or copywriting, the team has expertise allowing us to complete and exceed any brief from the planning stages through to final design.

The team of accomplished designers bring all of their passions and experience to Boom Boom Media and forms a special creative hub. Teamwork is very important to us and the skillset we have ensures we give thought and dedication to every project, no matter the size or scale, large or small. We pride ourselves on coming up with fresh ideas, but more importantly bringing them to life, producing our best work always and inspiring our clients too.
